Michael Wanger and Grateful Dead Productions are pleased to announce the
audio CD release of "Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions," the
first musical collaboration between Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir and Ron "Pigpen"
McKernan, seminal members of the Grateful Dead. Other band members are Tom
Stone, Dave Parker and Michael Garbett.
This live performance was recorded in July, 1964, at the Top of the Tangent,
Palo Alto, California, by Stanford students Pete Wanger and Wayne Ott, who
were collecting material for their KZSU-FM radio program, "Live from
the Top of the Tangent." The CD was produced for Grateful Dead Records
by Michael Wanger.
